Tim Pawlenty announcement

Posted by Rana Gee

Republican Tim Pawlenty officially launch his campaign for president on Monday, presenting himself as a serious candidate for serious times, who has the courage to tell Americans the truth about the problems facing the country.
Former Governor of Minnesota is starting week of the campaign in early states vote, hoping to benefit from the absence of two potential top-level candidates to establish itself as a leading contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.Pawlenty begin that effort with a meeting of words and the Town Hall on Monday in De Moines, where he will call for downsizing the federal government.
"Politicians often fear that if they are too honest, they could lose the election. I am afraid that in 2012, if we are not honest, we could lose our country," Pawlenty said, according to excerpts of prepared remarks released in advance of its campaign.
"If we want to develop our economy, we must reduce our government. If we want to create jobs, we need to encourage job creators. If we want our children to be free to pursue their dreams, we can not shackle them with our debts . It is time for the truth. "
Pawlenty, 50, a former member of the governor, who was on the shortlist to become the partner of John McCain in 2008, left no doubt that he will become an official candidate. He has visited Iowa 14 times since November 2008, more than any other potential candidate, in accordance with Iowapolitics.com. And he has hired veteran operatives Iowa, including Eric Woolson, who managed to win Iowa campaign, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee in 2008.
In fact, announcing his candidacy here, Pawlenty signs that the strong finish in the first-in-the-nation Caucasus occupies a central place in his overall strategy.
But the main candidates, Pawlenty is one of the lowest national profile, registering in the single digits in most polls. He hopes to change that this week officially enter the contest, which was further strengthened in recent days with the announcements of Indiana Mitch Daniels, Governor Huckabee and real estate magnate Donald Trump, that they will not run for president.
This leaves the former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is expected favorite. Pawlenty hopes to act as the leading alternative to Romney as a potential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr., a former governor of Utah and ambassador to China.
